... i got some of my friends to receive into it. so we go to latin clubs whenever. my pal's mom caught on to this and asked me to go one time just her and I. My pal and I have been friends since highschool and I don't know what to think of this but I find it a bit awkward. I don't want to offend her by saying no but I find it odd she wants to go with just me. should I just go and just think everything is chilly or is there something else? I find it kinda weird and I'd feel awkward telling my pal about it. anything would help. thanks. oh yeah... some of you think my pal is a guy... but she's actually a girl.
i heard it on the radio and its a merengue version of "stand by me" who sings it?

"Instead, we will refer to some survey research on the actual reception of salsa and merengue. The data here came from the TGI Puerto Rico Study. This is a survey of 2,439 persons age 12 or older interviewed during the year 2002. Puerto Rico is one of the capitals of salsa music and it is also in relative proximity to the Dominican Republic. The distance is in fact closer on account of the huge diasporas of Puerto Ricans and Dominicans in New York City, which is the middle from which salsa and merengue were propagated across the globe. Within the TGI Puerto Rico study, the survey respondents were asked about what types of music they frequently listened to on radio. 41% of the survey respondents said that they listened to salsa music frequently, and 39% of them said that they listened to merengue music frequently. More interestingly, of the salsa listeners, 86% said that they listened to merengue frequently. Of the merengue listeners, 91% said that they hear to salsa frequently. There is a high degree of overlap between the two." http://www.zonalatina.com/Zldata284.htm "By the tardy 1990s, the layering of the fourth and fifth generations of Puerto Ricans in New York, the lack of dancers, and the influx of Dominicans and revitalized merengue, and merengue dancers had spelled the end of salsa as a major musical force for U.S. Puerto Ricans and Latinos and Latinas in general. The displacement may seem abrupt, but in reality it was a feckless transition, since Puerto Ricans already knew how to dance merengue and bolero. (The significance of this preexisting condition will become clear later in connection with bachata.) Indeed Puerto Ricans had been listening to merengue on the island before salsa reached its apogee in the seventies." http://www.jrank.org/cultures/pages/4228/Music-Popular.html Is this a recent phenomenon? Why is this?
i was really looking into salsa and merengue stuff but that's every they offer so far but i dont like neither one i wanted something to learn how to dance smoothly ( but merengue bachata or salsa) which one would be helpful my problem is that i dance i little big like a robot even though im latina i have that problem cause i dont dance that much

Here are some videos from the central region of the Dominican Republic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qakgX9O6xEQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6fi6tBN6jM Why is this the real Domincian Republic? BEcause: -Has been populated since the 1600's, whereas the coasts have only been populated since the 19th and 20th centuries. -Where most of Dominican culture such as Merengue and Bachata music originated -Most Spanish-influenced area in a Spanish-speaking country -Most people from the coasts are West Indians, which is why alot of black dominicans have anglo last names. Whereas Cibaenos are mostly descendants of White Europeans, Black DOMINICAN slaves and Tainos. Why are people so stupid? http://usera.imagecave.com/dominicanpeople

im silly, chilly, smart, pretty, easy to receive along with, and i adore having a good time. i like to go outside and do anything fun that comes to mind. i am very much comfortable with myself and i adore to hang out with silly people. i hate guys who act like jerks every the time and girls who be bitchy. i am also someone you can trust and im defenetly a good pal. im always there for someone who needs to open up and let feelings out. i am 5"5 ft. tall, im skinny, light skin, bright brown hair, long hair with a bang (on the side), i always try to keep myself in a good mood so i will have a cutee grin :) i am dominican and puerto rican also i hear to raggaeton, batcha, hip hop and R&B, and some salsa and merengue.
Sooo... I like Hispanics (Dominicians, Puerto Ricans, etc.) but I feel like I don't know how to receive their attention. Do I have to talk Spanish and do the Merengue up and down the road? Seriously... what's the prob? BTW: I am not Hispanic myself... does that matter?
